The Library and Learning Resource Center (LLRC) brings under one roof the McCarthy Library on the first floor with roughly 68,000 volumes, computer work stations, study areas, group study rooms, plus two classrooms, and on the second floor the Teaching and Learning Center, Speech Lab, Testing and Tutoring Center, Learning Services, Alternative Media, and Disability Support & Program Services, a computer lab, and more classrooms.

FIRST FLOOR
McCarthy Library
The first floor of the LLRC offers books, reserves, periodicals, expansive study areas, computers with software and Internet access, and stations for assigned media viewing. Electronic databases provide access to many full-text journals, newspapers and magazine articles. Reference librarians are available to assist you.
Three million items from the combined collections of two consortia are represented in an online catalog searchable via the Web. Ph: (707) 256-7400 (Circulation) (707) 256-7430 (Reference).
SECOND FLOOR
Learning Service (LS)
The Learning Services department serves the educational needs of students who are experiencing difficulties learning, including those with learning disabilities.
NVC students may refer themselves for diagnostic evaluation. Information from the testing process is used by Learning Disability Specialists to determine accommodations that may support students in being successful in the college environment. (707) 256-7442.
Disability Support and Program Services (DSPS) The mission of Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS) is to ensure that all students with disabilities have equal access to all of the programs and services at Napa Valley College. Napa Valley College operates an integrated program and services model to maximize and simplify students’ opportunities for success. (707)256-7345
Alternative Media /Assistive Technology Center (ATC) provides tools that give students an alternative approach to achieving success. The purpose of Alternate Media is to allow access for students who cannot use standard print materials.
Testing and Tutoring Center (TTC)
The primary purpose of TTC is to proctor tests for students with documented disabilities. We will proctor tests for the general student population as a courtesy.
Referrals for the Ability to Benefit Test are made through the Financial Aid Office. Once a student has received a referral from the Financial Aid Office, contact the Testing and Tutoring Center to make an appointment to take the test. Ph: (707) 256-7434 or 256-7437.

Teaching and Learning Center (TLC)
The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) is the hub for professional development for Napa Valley College faculty and staff. Services include workshops on effective practices, tools and techniques for teaching; counseling; NVC operations; use of technology to strengthen teaching, counseling and administration.
Faculty and staff are welcome to use the center’s computers, scanner and presentation tools for individual or group needs.
